Project Snapshot

The Crace Commercial Precinct is comprised of 36ha on the corner of the Barton Highway and Gungahlin Drive.

The site has been occupied by the Commonwealth Government since 1913 and for the last 60 years by the CSIRO. With the CSIRO exiting the site in 2024, the opportunity has arisen to offer the existing campus of buildings and facilities to other organisations for lease.

The current Crown Lease allows for all forms of research uses which could include:

  • Health & medical activities
  • Research & development
  • Education
  • Defence Technologies
  • Social Science activities
  • Industry development & manufacture

And any other activity which has a research component key to its operation.

The Crace Commercial Precinct offers an unprecedented opportunity to locate in an environment of innovation and research.

Facilities

The site has developed into a campus style of buildings which has accommodated a broad range of uses over the decades including office, administration, laboratory and research spaces as well as climate-controlled storage areas.

The opportunity exists to refurbish existing spaces to suit new tenants or to expand and extend beyond the existing buildings.

The campus sits within a fully secured site with a semi-rural outlook, mature trees and gardens and ample at grade parking.

The existing buildings comprise 6,759 m2 over 9 buildings.

The Crown Lease allows for an additional 7,200m2 of GFA to be constructed.
